AMCLAN (Asian Monsoon CLimate change Adaptation Network) Starts
What impact does climate change have on the Asian monsoons? How should we adapt to the significant changes in the Asian monsoons? To answer these common questions, we have been strengthening networks across Climate Change Science and Climate Change Adaptation Science researchers under our Core-to-Core Program “Establishment of a Network Hub for Interacting Between Climate Change Science and Adaptation Sites in Asia”. Based on these connections, we have just launched a new research network using the ICEDS framework, which is called “AMCLAN.”
On September 30, 11 researchers from Japan, India, Bangladesh, and Nepal gathered in Room 523 at Kagawa University’s Saiwai-cho North Campus. After an opening address by Kenji Wada who is a vice president of the university, a report from ICEDS and subsequent discussion, the participants agreed on the agenda and held a signing ceremony. Going forward, we will build a network of researchers across even more research groups or research organizations, and then expand their research activities.
ICEDS has a research network formation system based on agenda in our Bylaws. Any laboratory, research institute, NGO, or research group can join the network by signing the Agenda above. We look forward to your active participation in AMCLAN!
